New Sandvik CoroDrill 880

The CoroDrill 880 from Sandvik Coromant features new patent-pending Step Technology that provides high cutting force balance, improving both productivity and hole quality. The drill's shaped center insert uses Step Technology to facilitate smooth entrance into the workpiece and perfectly balance cutting forces. This enables up to 100% increases in feed rates, cutting the cost per drilled hole in half. The CoroDrill 880's inserts present four cutting edges and wiper geometry, allowing tight tolerances to be held and achieving a high quality surface finish.

The drill's versatility allows it to excel in an array of applications, including helical interpolation, plunge drilling and boring. Versions of the CoroDrill 880 will be introduced through a series of releases covering diameters from .473 in. to 2.5 in. with lengths ranging from 2 to 5 times the diameter.
