Multiplex's last monthly update on Wembley development

Multiplex, the Australian construction company building the new Wembley stadium, advises that there has been no material change to the project status from that reported on 1st September 2006. The installation of more than 90,000 seats is now complete. Works relating to the commissioning and cleaning that are required to achieve practical completion are ongoing. These remaining works will complete prior to the date at which the stadium becomes operational but there are a number of critical works and activities that are the responsibility of the Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL) and the timing of the completion of these works is under the control of WNSL.

Multiplex is currently pursuing its entitlements against WNSL. An adjudication process has commenced in relation to a number of individual issues with many more adjudications and possible legal proceedings to follow.

Given the status of the project Multiplex does not intend to make any further monthly updates on Wembley or comment on the result of individual adjudications and court proceedings.

The stadium was due to be completed last January. WNS insists that if the ground is handed over towards the end of this year, next May's FA cup final can be played at the 90,000-seater stadium.
