Amec tops Dow Jones sustainability index

Amec plc, the international project management and services company, has topped the 2006 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) in the World and European sustainability indices for the support services sector.

This is the third year in succession that Amec has been named as a sector leader in this prestigious index, which annually surveys the world's 2500 largest companies, with the top 10 per cent best performing, based on their social, environmental and economic performance, being listed. Of the 65 global support service companies, only 11 made it into the DJSI World Index.

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the first global and pan-European indexes tracking the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies.
