| bautec 2008 expects 800 exhibitors  Some 18 months prior to the start of the event intensive preparations have already begun for bautec 2008 (19-23 February). Now that bautec is firmly established in the early part of the year as the leading meeting place for the industry in eastern Germany, and with the German construction industry on a firmer basis again, Messe Berlin regards the coming International Trade Fair for Building and Construction Technology with optimism.The basic concept for the Berlin building trade fair ("The complete building") was confirmed at the constituent session of the Exhibitors' Advisory Council. The overriding theme of bautec 2008 will be "Energy efficient construction". The successful link with two other events, SolarEnergy – International Trade Fair for Renewable Energy - und Build IT - IT and Communication Trade Fair for the Construction Sector – is being developed further. This presentation by the construction industry on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds will be augmented by the new Practical Building Centres and a technical supporting programme of outstanding quality, based around the European Building Congress. Messe Berlin is expecting well in excess of 800 exhibitors (2006: 780) from home and abroad.
