Turner to build new stadium for New York Yankees

Hochtief's US subsidiary The Turner Corporation, Dallas, acting as Construction Manager, is to build the new 50,800-seat baseball stadium for the New York Yankees. In the past two and a half years, the company has already been providing preconstruction services, including constructability reviews, purchasing and estimating. The contract has a total volume of almost EUR 486 million. The client is Tishman Speyer on behalf of the club.

The stadium, in New York's Bronx district, will in many ways reflect the original stadium, constructed in 1923. Work has already commenced. Completion is due for the start of the 2009 baseball season.
