Balfour Beatty wins £320 million support services contract

Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group, announces that its specialist facilities management arm, Haden Building Management (HBML) has been selected by the Department for Work and Pensions to be their single service provider in delivering a comprehensive range of office support services, on a nationwide basis, under a seven-year contract, worth approximately £320 million. There is also an option to extend the contract by a further three years.

It is anticipated that the contract will commence on March 1, 2007, following a period of planning and preparation to ensure a smooth transfer from the Department's current arrangements which involve a range of both internal and external service providers.

Haden Building Management' wider long-term framework contracts include the Royal Mail, BT and a range of the Balfour Beatty Group's PFI hospitals and schools schemes. Other customers include the BBC, BAA, Tesco and Land Securities.
