Model 4000 Stump Grinder from Bandit Industries

Bandit Industries announces the new 275-horsepower three-speed Bandit Stump Grinder Model 4000: the stump grinding and forestry mowing machine. The benefits of grinding stumps as opposed to pulling them are both economical and physical. The powerful hydraulic system incorporated into Bandit stump grinders allows these units to effortlessly grind stumps in a matter of minutes. The cost and effort associated with traditional means of stump removal greatly outweighs the cost of grinding. For these reasons, grinders are becoming more popular in land-clearing applications, making them one of the most sought after pieces of machinery in the business.

Two outstanding new features of the Model 4000 are the highly effective trouble-free hydraulic system and a cutter wheel that outperforms and lasts longer than most on the market. The Model 4000 features a hydrostatic drive system with a rotating planetary case motor, eliminating the need for belts or gears to power the cutter wheel. The cutter wheel is 40" in diameter, 2" thick, and has 48 buck teeth with hard-surfacing in the highest wear areas of the head, as well as recessed pockets to prevent wear to the bolts.

The Model 4000 is easy to operate, with a three-speed track drive and push-button controls mounted on the joystick inside the roomy operators cab, providing exceptional maneuverability. The cab also features a display panel with warning leads and a 6" display screen, plenty of window area and rearview mirrors, as well as heat and air conditioning controls.

In addition, a number of new features have been added to the Model 4000 making it one of the easiest grinders to service and maintain. Side panels open up, providing access to the engine and hydraulic pumps. A self-contained air compressor mounted in the engine compartment is used to quickly change cutter teeth and that can be used to clean out unwanted debris. In addition, the operator's cab tilts sideways, allowing access to the area under the cab. A bolt on the bellyband with hinged trap doors provides an easy means to remove debris that often accumulates on the bellyband.
