’Building with Green’ for Belgian private garden

The International Trend Award "Building with Green" of the European Landscape Contractors Association (ELCA) will be presented to a representative private garden in Deinze in Belgium in 2006. Antoine Berger, President of the European Landscape Contractors Association (ELCA) and Hanns-Jürgen Redeker, President of the Bundesverband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau e. V. (BGL = German Federal Landscape Gardening Association), highlighted this East Flanders' garden paradise on the occasion of the 17th International Trade Fair Urban Green and Open Spaces - Design – Construction – Maintenance "GaLaBau 2006" in Nuremberg.

Every two years the ELCA, in close cooperation with the BGL, honours the joint efforts of constructors, landscape architects and landscape gardeners for building with green. ELCA and BGL jointly want to promote interdisciplinary cooperation with the presentation of the International Trend Award. In Deinze the partners were: constructor family Bart and Nancy Vandeveire as well as the landscape architect André Goemaere (Viridis Tuinarchitectuur, Everbeek).

The dream garden surrounding the house of family Vandeveire is affordable but does not leave any wishes unanswered: from a representative front garden to an attractive living garden and a child-friendly garden room for playing to a multi-functional large terrace and a small secluded sun terrace it takes the various interests of its users into account. The garden paradise opens up very different perspectives and unifies architecture and garden art in an exemplary way on an approx. 1,200 m² large property.
