Parsons to construct EAA reservoir in Florida

Parsons, joint-ventured with Barnard Construction Company, Inc., has been awarded a contract by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to construct a massive reservoir in the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA), located near West Palm Beach, Florida.

This $480 million project, which is a key element of the $10.4 billion Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Program and a cornerstone of the SFWMD Acceler8 Program, will consist of an aboveground 190,000-acre-foot reservoir with approximately 20 miles of levees/embankment, seepage canals, a new pump station, and a new four-lane bridge on US Highway 27. Parsons will be responsible for the pump station, hydraulic structures, bridge, and roadwork.
