The three parallel trade fairs in Augsburg

The success of the three parallel trade fairs, "IHE WoodEnergy",
"RENEXPO " and "reCONSTRUCT " in Augsburg continues into 2006. 14,200 visitors, drawn from across the globe, attended in 2005. eneuerbare energien Kommunikitions- und Informationsservice GmbH, the event organizer, expects over 18,000 attendants and 1,600 congress participants in 2006. 380 exhibitors plan to present their projects, an increase of 25% from last year. Furthermore, the event is taking place in three halls, requiring more space than in previous years.

As of this year, the events in Augsburg are considered part of the European Union sponsored "Sustainable Energy Europe 2005-2008 Campaign." The initiative seeks to inform a broad population of the prospects of renewable energy and energy-saving techniques. The three parallel trade fairs in Augsburg are thus deemed as "Sustainable Energy Days, " a prestigious classification.

The accompanying congress program includes a mixture of successfully established and fresh, innovative concepts. The 6th annual specialized congress for wood energy, presented by the Bundesverband BioEnergie e.V. (Federal Association for Bio Energy e.V.), expects 280 participants: a new attendance record. Support for this event is also drawn from high-ranking political representatives from the European Parliament.

Other essential elements include specialized events such as the 5th International Vegetable Oil Forum, the 3rd International Symposium for Biogas, as well as the 2nd Federal Congress for Heat Pumps. Additional highlights of the events in Augsburg include such innovative topics as, for example, sea water desalinisation and emissions trading.
