| Black & Veatch awarded contract by Tampa Electric Black & Veatch, one of the largest and most diversified engineering and construction firms in the world, has been awarded a contract to install two 150-megawatt (MW) turbines at Tampa Electric Company's Polk Power Station to provide power during times of peak customer electric demand. Black & Veatch will complete the installation of the two 150-MW gas turbines in February 2007. The Polk Power Station is one of the nation's first IGCC installations, which is a clean, efficient and economical generation process. The IGCC process at the power station was designated as a U.S. Department of Energy demonstration project for coal gasification technology.
