Mitsubishi Electric launches new solar module range

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will introduce higher output lead-free solder photovoltaic modules for the overseas market on October 1, 2006. Using larger size solar cells, the six new models will be capable of high output, with one model capable of a maximum output of 185 Watts.

The other module powers in the new range are 180 Watts, 175 Watts, each with 50 cells, and also 130 Watts, 125 Watts and 120 Watts, each with 36 cells. Efficiencies of the modules range from 13.4% for the 185 Watt module down to 11.9% for the 120 Watt modules.

By increasing the size of the high conversion efficiency photovoltaic cells from 150 mm to 156 mm Mitsubishi Electric has been able to increase maximum module output 9% compared to previous 170 Watt model PV-MF170EB4.
