| URS awarded DHS contract to support National Exercise Program URS Corporation, one of the largest engineering design firms worldwide and a leading U.S. federal government contractor, announced that its EG&G Division, as part of a team led by Applied Marine Technology, Inc. (AMTI), is one of six teams awarded an indefinite quantity contract (IQC) by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to support the National Exercise Program (NEP). The NEP will be the DHS's primary vehicle to train its leaders and staff, and collaborate with its interagency partners in training and exercising their leaders and staff for their assigned homeland security missions. The IQC will be used to obtain contractor support for planning and conducting training and workshops, policy development, program evaluation, information technology support, and exercises for senior officials, national special security events, terrorist incidents and national disasters. Under the terms of the contract, the AMTI team can compete for, or be assigned, task orders to provide a broad range of training and exercises to help federal, state and local jurisdictions prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from terrorist and natural hazard incidents.
