Acciona net profit increased by 38%

Spanish engineering company Acciona filed its 1H06 earnings with the CNMV (Spain's stock market regulator). Acciona increased net attributable profit by 38% year-on-year to 188 million euro.

EBITDA amounted to 458 million euro, 52.1% more than in the same period of 2005, and the EBITDA margin was 15.9%, compared with 14.4% in 1H05. EBITDA growth was due to expansion by all divisions, particularly Acciona Energy, Acciona Infrastructure and Acciona Real Estate and to improved margins at Acciona Infrastructure and Acciona Real Estate.

In the first six months of 2006, Acciona increased consolidated revenues by 37.3% to 2.873 billion euro. EBIT totalled 296 million euro, a 50% increase on the same period of 2005, after a 56.1% increase in depreciation. The EBIT margin improved from 9.4% to 10.3%.

Capital expenditure totalled 1.555 billion euro, over twice the figure registered in 1H05, and was mainly for two acquisitions: CESA (acquired by Acciona Energy) and Pridesa (acquired by Acciona Urban Services).
