| URS/Bodouva joint venture to modernize LaGuardia Airport A joint venture of URS Corporation and William Nicholas Bodouva + Associates has been selected by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to assist in the planning of an extensive program to modernize facilities at LaGuardia Airport. The main focus of the project will be the Central Terminal Building (CTB) and the existing layout of its concourses, which limit the type of aircraft that can be accommodated and do not provide the flexibility to handle changes to the airlines' programmatic requirements. The landside of the terminal also requires reassessment to meet the security needs for screening passengers and baggage. The joint venture's services will be provided on an "on-call" basis and may include updating existing plans for redevelopment of the CTB and associated facilities. It is anticipated that this preliminary stage of the project will be completed within the next two years. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
