URS selected for the Navy's GCC program

URS Corporation announced that the company, as managing partner of a joint venture with IAP Worldwide Services Inc., has been awarded one of three indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts to provide engineering and construction services for U.S. Naval facilities and projects worldwide under the Navy's Global Contingency Construction (GCC) program.

The program has a maximum value of $1 billion for all three awards. Task orders under the contract will be issued over a one-year period but the Navy has the option to extend the contract to include four additional one-year ordering periods.

Under the terms of the contract, URS can compete for, or be assigned, task orders that include planning, engineering, construction, base operations and logistical support to a wide variety of efforts, including the war on terror, non-combat military operations, and disaster and humanitarian response actions, among other things.
