| Shaw awarded EPC scrubber contract by Mirant Corporation The Shaw Group Inc. announced that its Shaw Stone & Webster unit has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Mirant Corporation, that produces and sells electricity in the United States, the Caribbean, and the Philippines, to retrofit emissions controls at its three power generation facilities in Maryland. The flue gas desulphurization (FGD) units or "scrubbers, " which are expected to reduce sulphur dioxide (SO2) emissions by approximately 95% will be installed at the Chalk Point, Dickerson, and Morgantown Generating Stations.
