Istanbul gives importance to renovation culture

According to the Real Estate Research Report published by the Association of Real Estate Investment Companies in Turkey (GYODER), the number of buildings over the age of 50 years and more will be approximately 510.000 in the following 10 years.

In the year 2015, it is estimated that 40% of this building stock will be renovated. Between the years 2005 and 2015, it is forecasted that 234.000 buildings should be renovated & reinforced against the risk of damage in a probable earthquake in Istanbul. The Research Report foresees the renovation of half of the unlicensed dwellings stock of 1.716.300 houses, as urban renewal projects in 10 years. According to report, total number of buildings to be renovated in Istanbul is estimated as 1.300.000.

When the building stock requiring to be renovated climbs over one million in 10 years, renovation trend will be a specialised field in building industry. The pioneers of this new trend in building industry will meet the first time in Tadilat Istanbul Fair. The event which will take place in Istanbul World Trade Center between the dates 7 – 10 June 2007, will be organized by German Fair Organizator Messe München and Yapex Exhibitions' organization Akdeniz Tanitim.
