| Bechtel and Jacobs awarded expansion project for Motiva Bechtel Corporation and Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. were awarded a contract by Motiva Enterprises LLC to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for a proposed 325,000 barrel per day refinery expansion at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility. The project will be one of the largest refinery expansions ever undertaken in North America. The potential expansion would bring much needed supplies of transportation fuels to the U.S. market – particularly the Eastern and Southern regions of the country. The U.S.-based Motiva, jointly owned by Saudi Refining, Inc. and Shell Oil Company, would expect to initiate final engineering later in 2006 and begin construction in 2007. The new capacity would be projected to come online in 2010. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
