New pump for polyurethane components

The new A7VK axial piston variable-displacement pump from Bosch Rexroth is specifically designed for high-pressure pumping of polyol and isocyanate used in making polyurethane. The feed channel is separated from the drive work chamber to allow high pressure filling for highly viscous fluid. The pump is capable of outlet pressures up to 3625 psi. Good volumetric efficiency is achieved using a robust internal rotary group and proven axial tapered piston technology. Precise metering of the pump displacement can be adjusted from 0 to 28.1 cm3 using a manual adjustment with an integrated display in the handwheel. Once adjusted, the displacement can be locked to prevent accidental changes.

The pump has a double shaft seal made with special material and a flushing chamber that helps identify any inboard seal leakage. Internal parts are made without non-ferrous metals for compatibility with polyurethane components. The pump housing is also treated through a special process for corrosion protection.

The A7VK, which can be used with or without a feed pump, offers a more compact design than its predecessor model but maintains the same flange dimensions, drive shaft, and functions to make replacement easier.
