Carillion employee received MBE for contribution to road safety

Bob Wadsworth, the incident support manager on Carillion's Area 5 highway maintenance contract, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in recognition of his contribution to road safety.

Bob (56), who lives in Bicester, joined Carillion in 2000 following a career in the traffic department of the Thames Valley Police. He has been involved in road safety in some capacity for the whole of his career.

Bob received a letter from the Prime Minister's office shortly after returning from holiday at the end of May advising him that he had been nominated and that there would be no further correspondence until the Honours List was published in June.

"I thought it was my brother-in-law trying to wind me up, but there was always that nagging doubt – could it really be true", explained Bob.
