Jacobs to provide services for the 5th Street Overcrossing project

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that a subsidiary company received a contract from San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) to provide construction management services for the new 5th Street Overcrossing project in California.

The 5th Street Overcrossing is the first project of an estimated $500 million construction program to improve a six-mile stretch of the Interstate 215 corridor through the city of San Bernardino.

This project involves replacing the existing 5th Street bridge and roadway that cross over Interstate 215 and existing Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad tracks. The new bridge and the roadway approaches will be constructed over the next 2 1/2 years beginning July 2006. The project is being developed by SANBAG in cooperation with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 using State of California and Measure I funding.
