SolarSave Roofing Membranes from Open Energy

Open Energy Corporation announced that its SolarSave SP 480 Roofing Membrane product has received the UL 1703 listing, the American National Standard for safety for photovoltaic modules and panels. In addition, the SolarSave membranes were awarded a 790 Class A fire rating, the highest possible rating for fire resistance.

The tests for the critical fire resistance rating were conducted at the Northbrook, Illinois fire testing facility, and involved shooting a 1400șC temperature, four foot wide flame at the SolarSave Roofing Membrane for a period of 10 minutes. Open Energy's solar roofing membranes integrate the photovoltaic modules directly into the roofing system, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing product that is easily incorporated into projects by architects, designers, builders and contractors.

Open Energy's SolarSave Membranes are a building-integrated solar roofing system created for both new construction and re-roofing projects on commercial, industrial and residential buildings. SolarSave Membranes encapsulate crystalline solar cells in high-performance composite materials laminated under vacuum pressure to create lightweight, waterproof, fire rated and aesthetically appealing solar applications.
