SIE Sensors presents new concept to liquid-level sensing

SIE Sensors presents a new concept to Capacitive liquid-level sensing. The microLevel SK1-FSA-mLM12-XDC-PSU series is designed with Smart-Level technology which self-adjusts the sensitivity automatically upon installation. Operating at 10-35VDC, this three wire PNP/NPN and Normally Open/Normally Closed complete unit can be implemented with one sensor. Available in an M12 or ¼"NPT housing made of Polysulfon, a material that allows the sensor to withstand very stringent environments. Either a 2 meter cable or a M8 quick-disconnect are offered as standard wiring configurations and the sensors operating temperature range is up to 105ºC.

There are two LED indicators, one for power-on and the other a function indicator visible from 180º. The sensing face conforms to IP68/140psi, with the entire sensor having an IP69K rating making it suitable for High-Pressure steam cleaning applications.

Several other types are available, one being a reverse mount version where a tube is inserted in the tank for mounting the sensor to detect a low/bottom level. Another version comes with a test-pulse on the switching line which provides constant monitoring of the sensors function in ongoing operations meeting requirements with entailed safety relevant applications. These sensors can actually be installed touching the bottom of the container/tank or tubing wall and detect minimal levels without giving a false signal. Most importantly this sensor series can function in such harsh conditions where autoclaving, heavy deposits, encrustations, filming or foaming occur continuously making it useable in such industries as medical testing procedures, pharmaceutical, chemical, and food type applications.
