| Alfred McAlpine upgrades water systems across Scotland Alfred McAlpine plc, the support services group, confirmed that its joint venture company, Scottish Water Solutions, has been awarded a £760m contract to deliver a major part of Scottish Water's capital investment programme to upgrade water and waste water systems across the whole of Scotland through to 2010. This contract for Scottish Water's Q&S III programme follows the successful delivery, by Scottish Water Solutions, of its current £1.1bn Q&S II contract. Scottish Water Solutions will also provide services to Scottish Water for the programme management, design and delivery management of an additional package of work which will be let by Scottish Water, valued at approximately £240m.
