| Atkins to assist Scottish Enterprise Multidisciplinary consultancy Atkins has been appointed by Scottish Enterprise to run its innovative telecoms infrastructure project, Atlas. Atlas will allow hundreds of small and medium sized companies at six Scottish business parks to make the most of the latest advanced broadband and telecoms services over an optical fibre network. Atkins Telecoms has been awarded the £1.25 million, three-year contract to manage the wholesale telecommunications infrastructure for the project, including marketing of the connections, fault rectification and facilities management. The project will provide open-access fibre networks on the following business parks: Aberdeen Science & Technology Park, Dundee Technology Park, Heriot Watt University Research Park (Edinburgh), Strathclyde Business Park (East Kilbride), West of Scotland Science Park (Glasgow) and Crichton Campus in Dumfries. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
