Leighton Contractors to build new Defence HQJOC Project

Leighton Contractors Pty Limited, one of Australia's leading construction, mining, services and telecommunications groups, has signed a contract to design and construct the new Headquarters Joint Operations Command Project for the Australian Defence Force.

Construction on the new $300 million purpose-built Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) near Bungendore, NSW, is scheduled to commence in late September. Leighton Contractors and ABN AMRO, each have a fifty percent shareholding in Praeco Pty Limited, which will deliver the project for the Commonwealth.
