| Norplex-Micarta supplies compressor vane material Norplex-Micarta announces NP193PM, a high performance thermoset composite material that provides excellent dimensional stability in compressor vane applications. Superior dimensional stability prevents the pump blades from warping, and subsequently causing the pump to malfunction or disrupt the vacuum seal. NP193PM also operates at lower temperatures than competing materials. The phenolic resin is combined with a proprietary additive that works as a lubricant, reducing friction and lowering operating temperatures by 50°. This reduced friction also increases wear resistance, enabling longer blade life and less down time for maintenance and repairs. These superior material attributes make NP193PM an ideal choice for use in DuraBlade, an American Industrial Components compressor blade product. Norplex-Micarta manufactures NP193PM from a woven aramid fiberglass fabric combined with a proprietary phenolic compound. NP193PM has an ambient flexural strength of 45,000psi and a hot flexural strength of 33,000psi. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
