| Amec to identify the very best companies of British industry Nominations for the Best of British Industry Awards sponsored by Amec, The Sunday Times and The Work Foundation open on 3 July 2006. There are eight award categories covering themes such as the next generation, the community, exporters, small industrial companies and the prestigious Industrial Company of the Year award, which will be awarded to the best overall winner. A shortlist will be published online in late October. Eight award winners will be announced at a dinner in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern on 8 February 2007.
