| New Round Access Floor Module In response to the demand for a more aesthetic installation of power and communications outlets in raised floor applications, Thomas & Betts added the AFM-4R Round Access Floor Module to its Steel City line. The floor module's unique shape and size enable it to fit in the same size hole used for standard air-handling devices. With three compartments to accommodate power and data devices, the AFM-4R is an ideal solution for raised-floor applications. The AFM-4R Round Access Floor Module accommodates both power and communications outlets in a single location. The box features stamped steel construction and three compartments with removable voltage dividers. Additional features include a durable black polycarbonate cover with two access lids for cable entry. Access lids lock in the open position to protect cables. The AFM-4R Round Access Floor Module fits holes from 8¼ to 8¾ inches in diameter. Two thumbscrews secure it firmly in place, but allow easy removal for reconfiguration of office spaces. A minimum raised-floor depth of 6½ inches is required. The outside compartment's capacity is 21 cubic inches with a ¾-inch knockout on the side, a ½-inch knockout on each end and ½-inch and ¾-inch knockouts on the bottom. The center compartment's capacity is 40 cubic inches with a 1¼-inch knockout on each end and two removable access plates with ¾-inch knockouts. An optional power tunnel links outside power compartments to feed both compartments with a single conduit, while allowing for communications wiring in the center. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
