Leighton Contractors to build water supply asset

A large Australian construction company, Leighton Contractors Pty Limited, has won the contract to construct Shannon Creek Storage Facility. This project, managed by the Department of Commerce, is an integral component of the $180 million Clarence Valley and Coffs Harbour Regional Water Supply Scheme.

Leightons will start preliminary work in July leading to the upgrading of Geregarow Road and Shannondale Road to give access for construction of the 30,000 megalitre Shannon Creek Storage facility.

The Leighton Contractors component of this project has an approximate $92 million construction value and is forecast for completion in early 2009.
