| Hochtief wins major contracts in Austria Hochtief Construction AG will be the leader of two joint ventures building two tunnel sections in Austria with a total volume of EUR 290 million. In each case, Hochtief Construction has a one-third share. The clients are ÖBB-Infrastruktur Bau AG and Brenner Eisenbahn GmbH. One project involves a three-kilometer twin-track tunnel in the Vienna districts of Hitzing and Meidling. The Lainzer Tunnel, as it is called, forms part of the new Vienna Meidling - St. Pölten rail route. The carcass and is due to be handed over in mid-2010, the complete project in 2013. The other railroad tunnel project, the twin-track Jenbach Tunnel, is part of the Brenner feeder traffic branch line in the lower valley of the River Inn. Four kilometers in length, it requires an especially large TBM with a diameter of 13 meters.
