Greenlee's new crimping tool goes dieless

Greenlee introduced the EK121D and CK121D dieless crimping tools, which combines the simplicity of dieless crimping with the ease, features and portability of battery and corded power. These tools are designed for non-residential electrical contractors and power utility underground and substation crews. The EK121D and CK121D feature a new indentor crimping head capable of crimping a wide range of lugs and splices. They feature a flip open crimping head to easily get around large lugs and splices. The tools are UL and cUL Classified for 8 brands of aluminum color-coded code connectors, from 6 AWG to 1000 kcmil, and for 8 brands of copper-coded code connectors from, 4 AWG to 1000 kcmil.

The resulting crimps show a clean looking single indentation that is marked with the Greenlee logo for future identification of the type of tool that made the crimp.

The tools are powered by the Greenlee battery-powered or corded platforms that feature two speeds for a fast crimping cycle and automatic retraction to signal the operator when the crimp is complete. The battery-powered tools are equipped with a 12V 2.6 Ah NiMH battery that delivers approximately 35 crimps per battery charger.
