| Mott MacDonald appointed for Sudan's power station Mott MacDonald has been appointed as owner's engineer by the National Electricity Corporation of Sudan for the development of Khartoum North Phase III, a 2 x 100 MW extension to the existing power station facilities. The $175 million project, located in the north suburbs of Khartoum, is being developed to provide additional power to the Khartoum region of Sudan as part of an overall plan to install an additional 5000 MW to the Sudanese national grid. Mott MacDonald's role as engineer involves overseeing the performance of the EPC contractor, China National Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation, during the implementation of the project from basic design through to the supervision of site construction, commissioning, testing and warranty period services. As engineer the company will also undertake factory inspection visits to the major equipment manufacturers in China.
