| URS awarded contract by Department of Transportation URS Corporation has been awarded a contract by the Washington State Department of Transportation to provide engineering design and environmental permitting services for widening the five-mile section of I-90 just east of Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State. The $387 million project will provide a safer, more efficient six-lane freeway, reduce avalanche danger, and decrease traffic congestion. Under the terms of the contract, URS will assist WSDOT with engineering design services, including the realignment of the roadway, and develop avalanche mitigation measures.
