| ABB Awarded $44 Million Power Contract by General Electric ABB, the global power and automation technology group, has won a $44 million contract from General Electric Co. to supply power equipment for a project to help Qatar meet growing demand for water and electricity. ABB will provide the complete electrical scope for the extension of a gas-fired power and water plant under construction near the capital Doha. It includes a 220kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) as well as transformers.
