Bouygues Construction Acquires Marazzi

Losinger, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, has just acquired the Swiss construction company Marazzi, thereby strengthening its presence in German-speaking Switzerland.

Marazzi, a construction company founded nearly a hundred years ago, diversified into property development during the 1970s. With 300 employees and 2005 sales of 149 million euros, the company is mainly active in German-speaking Switzerland. Marazzi's expertise can be seen in such prestigious developments as the Stade de Suisse stadium in Bern and the Saint Jakobspark stadium in Basel.

Losinger, founded in 1917 and integrated within Bouygues Construction in 1990, is now the leader in the construction markets of French-speaking Switzerland. With its head office in Bern, the company is also active in Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich.

In addition to Losinger, Bouygues Construction has been very active in Switzerland for numerous years through its subsidiaries VSL (specialist in post-tensioning structures) and Bouygues Travaux Publics, which in 2005 built the 36-km Ferden tunnel linking the Bern and Valais cantons.
