Fronius launches new inverter series

Inverter manufacturer Fronius International will be launching its new product range for stand-alone PV systems at Intersolar 2006 in Freiburg. The new stand-alone inverter - the Fronius IS - weighs in at just 9kg. Its many features include the ability to connect in parallel, simple on-site servicing, complete flexibility in terms of configuration and an informative graphical display. As the user's electricity needs increase, up to 5 additional inverters per phase can be connected in parallel in 3 phase operation, giving a total of 15 Fronius IS inverters in a system. The original set-up can be upgraded at any time by installing additional inverters, making the system extremely flexible and future-proof.

The backlit, self-explanatory graphical display is a highlight in itself. The display provides information on the entire system in both graphical and alphanumerical form. The well laid-out display provides detailed information and shows important readings, including battery charge level and consumption values.

Fronius machines are exceptionally fault resistant. If a fault should occur, the faulty circuit board can be replaced quickly and easily on site - the machine does not need to be dismantled or sent away for servicing.

The result - downtime is kept to a minimum and the power supply is restored in the shortest time possible. Stand-alone systems store the solar power produced in a battery and make it available when required as alternating current.

In Germany alone, the application area for these systems is wide and varied, ranging from holiday cottages to mountain huts that have no mains power supply. Even mobile homes and boats can satisfy all their power needs with these systems.
