| Halcrow appointed on world leading LNG terminal Halcrow has been commissioned by Qatar Petroleum to provide consultancy services for the development of infrastructure and marine facilities at the Ras Laffan port in the State of Qatar. Located 80km north of Doha, Ras Laffan port is one of the largest LNG (liquefied natural gas) export facilities of the world. Qatar is set to become the world leader in LNG by 2012 through exports to Japan, Korea, Spain, Italy, India, UK and the USA. Group board director, Chris Fleming said: “This is a significant commission for Halcrow to provide multidisciplinary services requiring expertise from around the group in UK, USA, Qatar and UAE over a 12 month period.
