| 7th Architecture and Technology Innovation Award  The Architecture and Technology Innovation Award has been presented for the seventh time at Light+Building 2006, International Trade Fair for Architecture and Technology in Frankfurt am Main. The awards have been made by the architecture magazines AIT and "xia -Intelligente Architektur" in conjunction with Messe Frankfurt. Altogether, 32 participants have submitted 53 projects. 11 projects were singled out for awards – 6 in the category of lighting technology and 5 in the category of building technology.The first prize in the category of lighting technology has gone to the company Siteco Beleuchtungstechnik from Traunreut, together with the architects' practice Herzog & de Meuron from Basel and the lighting designer Michael Schmidt for their project with "balloon lights" and the illumination of the outer shell at the Allianz Arena in Munich (see awarding ceremony at the picture).
