Leighton Third Quarter Work in Hand at $16 Billion

Leighton Holdings Limited, the parent company of Australia's largest project development and contracting group, announced that work in hand stood at a record $16.0 billion at the end of the third quarter. This represents a significant increase from $14.9 billion at the same time last year and $14.8 billion at 31 December 2005.

Work in hand has boosted by the acquisition of Henry Walker Eltin's (HWE) Australian and New Zealand contract mining operations, which brings an additional $1.8 billion worth of work.
