| Makita introduces new circular saw with LED lights Makita USA announced the launch of a new 8¼" Circular Saw with a powerful 15 AMP motor, electric brake and two LED lights, model 5008FA. With a 2-7/8" cutting capacity, the 8¼" circular saw gains an extra capacity over traditional 7¼" circular saws for larger wood cutting applications, such as timber. The two LED lights illuminate the line of cut for increased accuracy. The light itself is built into the tool housing so as not to obstruct vision or interfere with the line of cut. A separate on/off switch for the light is located on the tool body to be easily activated for operator convenience. A new powerful 15 AMP motor delivers 5,200 RPM creating a high power-to-weight ratio for superior performance when making crosscuts or ripping through dimensional lumber. All ball and needle bearing construction and a technologically advanced centrifugal fan for efficient cooling add to the life of these saws. Model 5008FA features an electric brake for fast stopping of the blade. The 5008FA has a compact design and is well balanced for better handling and performance. The flat motor housing gives stability to the tools when changing blades, while the conveniently located shaft lock makes it quick and easy. This saw will bevel cut up to 45°, with cutting capacities of 2-7/8" at 0° and 2¼" at 45°. A heavy gauge aluminum wraparound base gives excellent support and strength. Finally, for operator comfort, the 5008FA features a large knob and lever for easy adjustments. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
