| Elemental Character of Brick Projects by Sergison Bates architects, ranging from urban housing in east London to the Jewish cultural and community centre in Munich, will be on display in an exhibition entitled 'Brick-work: thinking and making' at the Royal Institute of British Architects from 5 May to 8 June 2006. Eight case-study projects made between 1997-2005 are presented through construction drawings and large-scale concept models. Each project explores the spatial potential of brick construction and identifies the possibilities for the materiality of buildings to have a direct emotional effect. In conjunction with the exhibition, Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates will be giving a lecture entitled 'On Repetition: Towards Weight' at the RIBA on 16 May 2006 at 6.30pm. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
