Two joint winners of Architecture+Technology Award

Frankfurt am Main, April 25, 2006 — The international jury for the European Architecture+Technology Award has decided upon two projects as joint winners. The prize money (€ 75,000) has been shared by the teams who submitted the materials for the two new development projects: for the administration building of SOKA-BAU in Wiesbaden and for the Gallery and Art Centre in Graz, Kunsthaus Graz.

The authors of the new SOKA-BAU building are the architects Professor Thomas Herzog and Hans Jörg Schrade of Herzog+Partners Dipl. Ing. Architekten BDA from Munich and the project involved engineer offices (Bartenbach, DS-Plan, Hausladen, Hross, Kaiser, Sailer Stepan et al.). The authors of the Kunsthaus Graz are the architects Peter Cook, Colin Fournier from Spacelab/UK in London and the engineering partnership Bollinger+Grohmann from Frankfurt am Main.

The additional € 10,000 "New Talents Award" went to the engineer Eugenio Pedrazzini from Lugano, who received the award for the three new Flaz bridges.

The formal award ceremony has taken place in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt on 23 April. All winning projects are on display now at a special exhibition of Light+Building 2006. From 08 May to 04 June 2006 the projects will be on display in the German Museum of Architecture in Frankfurt.
