| Leighton Digs Deep For Landcare Australia's Cyclone Larry Appeal Leighton Holdings announced a donation of $50, 000 towards Landcare Australia's "Landcare for Larry" appeal to regenerate the land and waterways of Far North Queensland recently devastated by Cyclone Larry. Mr Wal King, Chief Executive Officer of Leighton Holdings, said that the donation to Landcare Australia's "Landcare for Larry" appeal recognises the importance of companies in the development and construction industry working together with the local communities in Far North Queensland to get them back on their feet. Landcare Australia Limited (LAL) will manage the distribution of funds to farmers, landholders and local community groups, and has been working with the Far North Queensland Natural Resource Management (FNQ NRM) body and other stakeholders to establish a clear picture of the damage that has occurred and the priority areas for landcare reparations in the region. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
