ThyssenKrupp to Acquire Operations of TEAM and Trabosa

ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems S.A., Mieres (Spain), a subsidiary of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG, Duesseldorf, has reached an agreement to acquire the airport passenger boarding bridge operations of TEAM (Technologia Europea Aplicada al Movimiento) S.L. and Trabosa S.L.

Both sister companies are located in Barcelona, Spain. TEAM is in charge of the new installations business, Trabosa handles the equipment service.

ThyssenKrupp Airport Systems recently completed major airport projects in Madrid, Toronto and Dallas/Fort Worth. Currently the group is working on outstanding airport projects in Dubai, Beijing, Shanghai-Pudong, Warsaw, Ankara, Cairo, Paris and London Heathrow. Professional cross-selling laid the foundation for these major airport projects. The company is the first supplier in the world to manufacture and install passenger boarding bridges for the new Airbus A380. The order in Dubai includes 127 passenger boarding bridges, 25 of them for the Airbus A380.

A new transportation concept - the TurboTrack - will be installed at Pearson Airport in Toronto. This moving walk will accelerate up to a speed of two meters per second over a distance of 270 meters, transporting more than 14, 000 people per hour.
