Small cordless drill now available in lightweight kit

Metabo Corporation has introduced a new kit featuring its PowerMaxx cordless drill/driver that is small, light and powerful. The PowerMaxx Kit includes the drill/driver, a lightweight carrying case, two batteries and a charger. The PowerMaxx is ideal for assembly work, carpentry and cabinet work, electrical work, or any other application that requires getting into tight spaces. PowerMaxx is ergonomically designed for user comfort and easy operation and weighs only 1½ lbs. The slim handle reduces user fatigue. The switch is designed for both right- and left-handed operation and the forward/reverse lever can be switched with just one finger. The magnetic ¼" hex tool holder guarantees a quick bit change and the screwdriver converts to a drill in just seconds. An infinitely variable speed trigger switch makes it easy to start screws in any material.

The drill/driver features a 4.8-volt battery that drives up to 95 #10 x 1" screws on one charge and fully charges in less than two hours. The PowerMaxx can drill up to 1/8" in steel and 1/4" in soft wood using the ¼" solid steel keyless chuck accessory. Another unique accessory is the offset screw driving attachment, which rotates 360° allowing for screw driving in very tight spaces. Both of these accessories are available separately.

The tool's unique two-speed gearbox and soft-start motor deliver a no-load speed of 0-200 rpm in screw mode and 0-600 rpm in drill mode. Adjustable torque settings ensure proper torque for each job; maximum torque is 80 inch-lbs. The gear housing is constructed of industrial strength metal to ensure long service life.
