Siemens to upgrade a treatment plant in Bialystok, Poland

The Industrial Solutions & Services Group of Siemens Sp.z.o.o., Poland has signed a contract with Instal Bialystok S.A. (General Contractor for modernization of the Waste-Water Treatment Plant in Bialystok) for installation of automation equipment for the process control system at the plant. The order is worth EUR 1.03 million.

The contract covers enlargement of a control and monitoring system for the Waste-water Treatment Plant. The complex, end-to-end project includes system design, installation in the facility, startup and staff training. With its new control and monitoring system, the Bialystok WWTP will optimize the technological process and improve its functionality, which is of vital importance in view of constantly increasing sewage volume. The current population of the area served by the owner of the Bialystok WWTP is 311, 000.

The biogas system and sludge treatment modernization are included in the "Water Improvement in Bialystok" program, which is co-financed by European Union funds.

The Bialystok project is yet another executed by the Industrial Solutions and Services Group for a water company. WWTPs in Kolno and Bielsk Podlaski have been finalized, and the Group is currently in charge of modernization for municipal WWTPs in Lodz and Przemysl, along with a WTP for Torun.
