ETDE acquires Thermal Transfer in the UK

ETDE, Bouygues Construction's electrical contracting/maintenance subsidiary, has acquired British company Thermal Transfer from utility group Scottish & Southern Energy plc.

Thermal Transfer specialises in air conditioning (design, installation and maintenance of industrial processes) and in turnkey design and installation of sterile contained environments, especially in the pharmaceutical industry.

ETDE is already a major player in the UK through a number of companies: street-lighting contractor David Webster, acquired in 2005, offers infrastructure installation and maintenance services; Icel, also acquired in 2005, maintains and operates complex systems; and Ecovert FM specialises in facilities management. Ecovert FM, which provides FM services for the British Home Office, has won several PFI contracts in the school and hospital sectors together with Bouygues UK, Bouygues Construction's London-based subsidiary.
