| Siemens' new cargo system goes into operation in Taipei The cargo center built by the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) Group at the Chiang Kai Shek (CKS) International Airport in Taiwan has gone into operation. The new logistics hub with an annual capacity of 500, 000 tons is operated by Far Glory Free Trade Zone Co. Ltd., one of the leading cargo service providers in Taiwan. The turn-key system was handed over by the general contractor, Siemens, after only 15 months of construction: this is a record achievement for a building project of this size and complexity. Thanks to the short construction period of only 15 months, Far Glory can improve its customer service earlier than planned, therefore making considerable savings at the same time. For its record achievement in completing this project, and for being an outstanding partner, Siemens was awarded the honor of "distinguished supplier" by Far Glory. The customer normally only bestows this honor on freight service providers that are based in its center. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
